Flea & Tick Control
If you have pets, fleas and ticks can be a problem pest to control. Ticks can also cause human health problems with Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, Lyme Disease, and other tick-born diseases. Fleas and ticks can multiple rapidly and can infest pets, people, and even inside of your home.
To best control fleas and ticks, a homeowner should treat both the animals and the landscape around the home. Even treating inside carpet areas is sometimes needed in severe cases. There are many products available to apply directly to your pets which work well with consistent treatments. LawnAmerica can help with consistent lawn treatments also, which can be applied at the same time as a regular lawn care fertilization treatment. Many homeowners have us add the granular insecticide treatment to their summer and early fall services, with an additional fee for the insecticide applied. An added benefit to this is the control of other insect pests, such as ants and spiders.
Another option to consider for flea and especially tick control is to subscribe to our Mosquito Control Program, which consists of 4 applications of an insecticide mist sprayed in your landscape, around your home, and especially in the backyard. In addition to controlling mosquitoes, these products have the added benefit of helping to control fleas and ticks around the home. Keeping your lawn clear of high grass and weeds is also important for tick control especially.
Have Pets in Your Backyard?
Many of our customers with dogs and cats have us apply our granular insecticide during their summer treatments, sometimes just to the backyard. This insecticide treatment greatly cuts back on flea and tick problems with your pets. We also recommend treating the animals, because our treatments don't guarantee you'll not see a tick or flea on your pets. You'll see a large decrease though in the flea and tick population with consistent treatments of flea and tick control.
