Flea & Tick Control
If you have pets, fleas and ticks can be a problem pest to control. Ticks can also cause human health problems with Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, Lyme Disease, and other tick-borne diseases. Fleas and ticks can multiply rapidly and can infest pets, people, and even inside of your home.
To best control fleas and ticks, a homeowner should treat both the animals and the landscape around the home. Even treating inside carpet areas is sometimes needed in severe cases. There are many products available to apply directly to your pets which work well with consistent treatments. There are also several granular or liquid products available at the local home improvement stores that can be applied to your lawn and landscape to help keep insect populations in check.
Unfortunately due to state regulations, we are prohibited from applying products specifically for an insect that isn’t damaging your turf. However, if we have to treat for grub worms or chinch bugs, the insecticide used will also help control flea and tick populations.
Another option to consider for flea and especially tick control is to subscribe to our Mosquito Control Program, which consists of 4 applications of an insecticide mist sprayed in your landscape, around your home, and especially in the backyard. In addition to controlling mosquitoes, these products have the added benefit of helping to control fleas and ticks along with other insects around the home. Keeping your lawn clear of high grass and weeds is also important for tick control especially.
